European Parliament President Martin Schulz has sent his condolences to the families of the victims of the Malaysian air plane catastrophe in Ukraine.
“I was shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic crash of the Malaysian airliner which led to the death of so many people. I send my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the national authorities of the affected countries,” the EP Web site quotes the president as saying.
He insisted that the circumstances which led to this crash must be thoroughly investigated and responsibility for this tragedy established.
“The European Union and its Member States must offer all the necessary expertise to Ukrainian and international authorities to complete the investigation,” Schulz stressed.
