Moscow - Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov has said that U.S. intelligence officials have not presented a single piece of evidence capable of proving that militiamen in eastern Ukraine could have been involved in the July 17 crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17.

“It has been announced that U.S. technical intelligence data and
satellite images prove the launch of a rocket from militia-controlled
territory. My question is: where are these data?” Antonov told the
Rossiya-24 television station.

“Certain representatives of the U.S. intelligence service whose
identities remain a secret gave comments, which, the [U.S.] Department
of State says, were supposed to prove militiamen’s guilt and almost
Russia’s involvement,” Antonov said.

But these accounts were never presented, he said.

Antonov also said he was also skeptical about Kyiv’s remarks concerning with situation with the Malaysian Airlines Boeing-777.

“These persons have actively been commenting on some possible reasons
behind the catastrophe, referring mainly to social networking
websites,” he said.

As an example, the Russian deputy defense minister mentioned the
recently published pictures of Buk air defense missile systems that are
actually owned by the Ukrainian army. But there have been claims that
these systems allegedly belong to militiamen, he said.
