Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin has called for investigating not only the crash of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 in Ukraine but also the Ukrainian aviation authorities' actions in terms of their compliance with their obligations on ensuring safe air transportation.
“It is necessary to investigate not only the crash as such but also how
fully the Ukrainian aviation authorities have carried out their duties
and whether they have done all they could to prevent the tragedy amid
the military campaign started by Kyiv,” Churkin said at a UN Security
Council session.
