Those guilty of downing Malaysian Airlines flight MH 17 in eastern Ukraine will unavoidably be punished, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
“A year ago we pledged that persons responsible for the tragedy would be punished. These are not empty words. Murderers must know that the punishment can’t be avoided,” reads Poroshenko’s statement of Facebook.
As reported, a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 with the flight number MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. Everyone on board the plane was killed. The most probable theory on the cause of the disaster is that the airliner was shot down by a surface-to-air missile fired from the conflict zone in Donbas.
