New York (UN) – UK Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council Mark Lyall Grant has said an initial report on results of the investigation into the reasons for the Malaysian airliner catastrophe in the eastern part of Ukraine is expected to be made public at the end of Aug.

He told the journalists that the UN Security Council, at the initiative of Russia, had heard a report of UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Oscar Fernandez-Taranco.

As far as he [the assistant secretary-general] understands, a preliminary report will be prepared by the end of Aug., the British diplomat said.

Grant added that the same terms were named by the Dutch government.

The report wouldn’t be classified, but would be made public, the UK’s envoy to the UN said.
