The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has noted that the level of activity of Ukrainian voters abroad was highest among all the parliamentary campaigns starting from 2002.

“We can say with confidence that the elections were definitely valid in foreign election districts and showed high level of interest and activity among our compatriots living abroad. Although, voters were less active in comparison to the extraordinary presidential elections in May, they showed the highest level of activity among all the parliamentary elections, which have been held abroad since 2002,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing in Kyiv on Oct. 28.

He said that the elections took place at 112 polling stations abroad, and the one with the largest number of registered voters was a station in Moldova (over 53,000 voters), while the one with the least number of voters was in Kosovo (43 people).

Overall, the updated register of voters abroad included over 461,000 people, over 40,500 of whom came to the elections. The turnout was 8.7 percent.

“All the polls opened and closed on time; there weren’t any facts that could affect the expression of will of our citizens during the work of polling stations,” Perebyinis noted.
