Some 85,000 law enforcers are involved in ensuring order during the extraordinary parliamentary election in Ukraine, Zorian Shkiriak, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, has said.
“All divisions of the Interior Ministry involved in maintaining order during the election went on patrol all over Ukraine and they are doing their usual work,” Shkiriak told Interfax-Ukraine on Sunday, Oct. 26.
He said that the total number of Interior Ministry’s officers on patrol on Sunday, Oct. 26 amounts to some 60,000, including 4,000 of them in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In addition, 25,000 of officers from special divisions of the Interior Ministry, Armed Forces, National Guard and SBU are fulfilling their tasks and they are ready to quickly react to force majeure situation, he said.
