You're reading: CEC registers another 117 candidates in single-member constituencies

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered another 117 candidates running in single-member constituencies.

 The commission at a meeting on Wednesday registered 110 self-nominated candidates.

They include Supreme Court of Ukraine judge Vasyl Onopenko (constituency No. 14, Vinnytsia region), former MP Serhiy Holovaty (No. 19, Volyn region), MP and former Defense Minister Oleksandr Kuzmuk (No. 38, Dnipropetrovsk region), MPs Valeriy Omelchenko and Vitaliy Bort (No. 55 and 56 respectively, Luhansk region), Mykhailo Poplavsky (No. 101, Kirovohrad region), Anatoliy Kinakh (No. 127, Mykolaiv region), as well as Health Minister Oleh Musiy and Euromaidan activist Volodymyr Parasiuk (Nos. 124 and 122 respectively, Lviv region).

In addition, the CEC registered seven candidates nominated in single-member constituencies by parties, in particular, three by the Justice Party and one each by the Ukrainian People’s Party, the Democratic Alliance, the New Politics Party and the Ukrainian Perspective Party.

Thus, 1,187 candidates were registered in single-member constituencies as of September 24, including 706 self-nominees and 481 candidates nominated by parties.
