There are no international observers from Russia at the extraordinary parliamentary election in Ukraine, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mykhailo Okhendovsky has said.

“As for international observers from Russia, the CEC has not received applications [on their registration]. There are no observers from Russia,” he said at a briefing on Oct. 26.

He said that a total of 2,300 international official observers have been registered for the election in Ukraine, and most of all from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) – 779.
