You're reading: Poroshenko not ashamed of any of parliamentary candidates from his party

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that there are no candidates on the election list of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko who he would be ashamed of.

‘I stress that on the election list of my political party – the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko – there are no former Regions Party MPs and those who voted [for Ukrainian anti-protest laws] on Jan. 16. There is no one who I would be ashamed of,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Sept. 25.

Poroshenko said that as for the candidates running in single-member constituencies, they included people who had different political views, but ‘now are reputable people.’

‘There are the same requirements for them: the refusal to vote for the laws on Jan. 16, participation in parliament sessions from Jan. 20 (that helped us restore legitimacy on Ukrainian territory), and other criteria,’ he said.
