Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has voted at a polling station in Kyiv, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.
“I’ve voted for the future, the European route of development, renewal of power… I’m sure that we’ll have a new government, a new European coalition and a new parliament… I hope that I will manage to form a powerful pro-European and pro-Ukrainian democratic coalition, and I hope that today Ukrainian people will make a very responsible choice,” he told reporters after voting.
The president expressed hope that a request of Ukrainian society to renew power and create a new coalition will be realized.
“Of course, I hope that my efforts will be supported and we’ll have a united powerful and effective team in the conditions of the parliamentary and presidential republic and conduct reforms,” Poroshenko said.
