Two criminal cases have been started in Kirovohrad region on counts of violating elections procedures, the regional police department reported.

The two criminal inquiries were opened after a car carrying reporters and parliamentary deputies was smashed, and a list of voters who had cast their votes already was seized, the police said.

The Kyiv regional police documented 25 violations of the election legislation on Oct. 26, and about 20 election irregularities were reported in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on its Web site.

The Kyiv police have received 25 reports about irregularities in the election law. Two administrative protocols were drawn up.

The most common election abuses are illegal canvassing, the presence of suspicious people at polling stations and illegal withdrawal of ballot papers from polling stations.

Twenty thousand invalid ballot papers were found at a polling station in the Dnipropetrovsk Obast. In two instances ballot papers were spoiled in two districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The police said that canvassing continued via SMS messages and leaflets.
