You're reading: Ukraine’s parliament passes law on criminal responsibility for violation of citizens’ electoral rights

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law on amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine that foresees strengthening of the responsibility for violation of the citizens' electoral rights.

A total of 233 MPs backed up the relative bill during the Oct. 14 sitting.

The legislative act provides additional protection to citizens’ electoral rights, increases responsibility for their violation, and prevents repetition of negative consequences in the course of the next elections and referendums.
