You're reading: Yatsenyuk hopes new coalition, government to be formed soon after election

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has expressed hope that the extraordinary parliamentary election being held on Oct. 26 will be fair and it will result in the change of approaches of new politicians to the governance in the country.

“What am I expecting from the election? Real changes both in the political class and the political class’ approaches to the country, responsibility and the implementation of those things which millions of Ukrainians are waiting for,” Yatsenyuk told reporters after casting his vote at a polling station in Kyiv.

He again expressed confidence that the coalition and government will be soon formed after the election.

He also expressed hope that “the election would be at least partially in line with the democratic standards as we need to move to Europe.”
