Ukrainian judges demonstrated professionalism in the recent parliamentary elections in Ukraine and acted with restraint and within their powers, despite pressure from political parties, Head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Anatoliy Holovin has said.
“During the elections… the judicial authorities act reservedly,
tolerantly, in line with their powers and in the manner determined by
the constitution and laws of Ukraine, even under the pressure from all
fronts of political confrontation,” he said in Kyiv on Thursday, while
congratulating the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine on the tenth
anniversary of its foundation.
During the conference, the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine
received congratulations from representatives of central government
agencies, in particular, Ukraine’s presidential adviser and the head of
the main department for the judiciary at the presidential
administration, Andriy Portnov, Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych,
as well as the head of the parliamentary committee on justice, Serhiy
Kivalov.
“Administrative justice is an essential element in a modern
democratic society. Today, I think, administrative justice occurred, and
it’s a highly professional corps of authoritative judges,” Head of the
State Judicial Administration Ruslan Kyryliuk said.
