You're reading: FC Obolon drops out of First League due to financial problems

FC Obolon Kyiv has notified the Professional Football League (PFL) of its decision not to participate in the spring part of the 2012-2013 First League due to lack of sufficient funding, the PFL's press service reported on Thursday.

SKA Odesa also submitted the same statement to the PFL.

“A respective decision on the expulsion of these clubs from the league will be considered at the next meeting of the central council of the Professional Football League,” reads the statement.

As reported, a co-owner of Obolon Concern, Oleksandr Slobodian, said on November 9, 2012 that he had resigned as president of the eponymous football club and reported on the termination of the club’s funding.
