Established in 2002 in Poland, Plagiat is entering Ukrainian market. The company claims to have installed its software in more than 250 universities of eight countries so far, including Poland and Romania, as reported by Ukrainian tech blog AIN.UA.
Ukraine has been chosen as the next step of Plagiat’s international expansion as Ukraine and Poland have a common border and similar problems, company representatives said.
Plagiat’s flagship product, christened ‘Strike Plagiarism,’ allows to verify the authenticity of several documents simultaneously, and offers a detailed report.
The system operates in Ukrainian and reads out the Ukrainian alphabet, according to the company.
The product targets universities, publishers and individual users. Individual users are to pay 2,44 euros per 20,000 characters. The fees for universities are discussed individually.
Plagiat officials have already met the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Sergey Kvit, which resulted in inviting the company to join the expert board of the ministry.
Among the Polish company’s competitors on the Ukrainian market is Unplag, which started working with Ukrainian universities a few months ago.
