The Kyiv City Territorial Election Commission has registered 29 who are standing for election as Kyiv mayor.

The commission told Interfax-Ukraine that 32 candidates submitted documents and three had their applications rejected.

During a meeting on Thursday the commission registered Nash Krai (Our Land) candidate, former head of Kyiv city state administration Volodymyr Makeyenko, Vidrodzhennnia (Revival) candidate, former prime minister of Ukraine Yuriy Yekhanurov; Spilna Diya (Common Action) candidate – Tetiana Montyan; Syla Lyudey (Power of the People) candidate Roman Mykhailov; Ukrainian Republican Party – Dmytro Pavlichenko; Auto-Maidan Party – Oleksiy Samokhin and the 5.10 party – Hennadiy Balashov.

Current Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko, former mayor Oleksandr Omelchenko, former deputy head of Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration Hennadiy Korban, independent parliamentarian Boryslav Bereza, and restaurateur Serhiy Husovsky, who is standing as the Samopomich Union candidate, are also seeking election as mayor.

The deadline to register to stand as a candidate for local councils and village and city mayors passed on Oct. 1.
