Another young man, 31-year old Mykhailo Stadnyk, has died in police custody. Stadnyk died after falling down while in police custody and receiving over 50 bruises, 1+1 TV reported on Sept. 9.
A report by the same television network on May 26 about the death in police custody of a student in Kyiv sparked public outrage, leading civic activists to accuse police of systematically exceeding their authority.
