About 450 sex industry workers have been registered in Kirovohrad, Olena Lymar, a representative of the Return to Life Kirovohrad regional fund, and manager of HIV prevention measures for sex workers, said at a press conference in Kirovohrad on Tuesday.
According to her, about 250 of these prostitutes were included to the program on HIV prevention for sex workers.
Lymar said Kirovohrad’s prostitutes are aged from 18-50.
The president of the regional charity fund, Oleksandr Ostapov added that such measures are being carried out to limit the spread of HIV.
A total of 250,000 people live in Kirovohrad.
