The head of the Ukrainian National Television Company Zurab Alasania has said the international song contest Eurovision 2017, which Ukraine will host the next year, may take place in several Ukrainian cities.

“We must hold the national selection, two semi-finals and the contest final. Therefore, it is possible to hold a competition in several cities, not only in the capital, not even necessarily in the capital, “Alasania said on Your Freedom TV program on espreso.tv channel.

According to the director of the national broadcaster, though Ukraine has no experience of holding the competition in several cities, but there is a proper infrastructure left after Euro 2012.

The heads of several cities have already shown their willingness to hold Eurovision 2017 at their home-towns all at once after the victory of Ukrainian singer Jamala at Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm. Among the claimers were Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Kherson, Lviv and Kharkiv.

Ukraine has already hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in the Kyiv Sports Palace after Ruslana Lyzhychko’s victory at Eurovision 2004.
