Ukraine's President Victor Yushchenko and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have discussed the organization of the latter's working visit to Ukraine by the end of this year.
Yushchenko noted the revival of the political dialog between the two
states, the deepening of their strategic partnership and an increase in
trade and economic interaction in recent years, the presidential press
service reported.
The Ukrainian president also said that Ukraine is interested in the
further deepening of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and
Azerbaijan.
In addition, the presidents discussed Azerbaijan’s support for
Ukraine’s energy initiatives. In particular, Yushchenko thanked his
Azerbaijani counterpart for supporting the Euro-Asian Oil Transport
Corridor project. The Ukrainian president also noted the importance of
holding a presentation of a feasibility study of the oil corridor
project for the European Commission, which has been agreed with EU
Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
