Kyiv, September 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The trade in goods between Ukraine and Thailand has been $170.2 million since the beginning of the year, Ukraine's Ambassador to Thailand Markiyan Chuchuk said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

The overall fall in trade between the two states in the first half of this year is not caused by the effect of the financial and economic crisis on the economies of Ukraine and Thailand, the ambassador believes.

In 2007-2008, the trade in goods between Ukraine and Thailand grew steadily. According to Ukrainian data, mutual trade increased from $218 million in 2007 to $460.2 million in 2008.

According to the ambassador, the key Ukrainian exports to Thailand are ferrous metals and metal products, aluminum, fertilizers and pesticides, wood and wooden products etc. Ukraine imports from Thailand electrical equipment, mechanical instruments, vehicles, sea products and rubber products.
