Kyiv, September 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The All-Ukraine association of village and town councils has called on the Ukrainian president to cancel his veto imposed on the budget code.

The address to the president was approved at a Saturday constituent congress of the All-Ukraine association of village and town councils held in Kyiv, the cabinet’s department for relations with mass media has reported.

“Dear Mr. President, we ask you to cancel your veto on the law on amendments to the budget code and give it green light. We call you on abstaining from vetoing bills adopted under initiatives of the government and not to cancel relevant cabinet resolutions aimed at the improvement of the local self-government institute, creation and improving its financial basis,” reads the address declared by newly elected head of the association, Bohdan Hus.

He said that amendments to the bill on the budget code takes into account all president’s proposals, which had been ignored by the previous government.

The congress participants also asked the head of state to promote the adoption of the national budget for 2010 and sign it.
