Somali sea-shifta freed the Dutch freighter MV MARATHON with a Ukrainian crew in the early morning hours Tuesday, nearly two months after the vessel was captured in the Gulf of Aden, Ukrainian authorities confirmed. The pirates seized the Netherlands Antilles-flagged MV Marathon, owned by Western Marine Transport NV and operated by the Dutch Cargadoor Amons & Co on May 7. The Dutch government finally came clear and stated now that one crew member had been shot dead by the pirates.
