Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, in TV interviews, spoke on how Ukraine used the first tranche of the Russian loan.
“We had to use the first tranche in order to pay social benefits bills,” he said.
Azarov also remarked that the rest of the loan should be directed toward economic modernization. However, two days ago, Azarov claimed that the Russian money was not going to be ‘wasted’. “There is no way we will waste this resource through just solving current problems. Economic modernization is the number one priority for which this money will be directed,” Azarov said.
