President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan arrived on Oct. 28 in Kyiv for meeting meetings with top officials.
During the visit, Aliyev is scheduled to meet President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine, sign Ukrainian-Azeri bilateral documents, and handle the media.The presidents will lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and honour memory of famines’ victims.During the course of the visit they also plan to discuss bilateral cooperation in the energy, machine-building, military-technical, and space-exploration industries.
In addition, second session of the Council of the Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan is scheduled during the visit. The presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan are expected sign several agreements.
Aliyev is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn at the time of the visit.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine and Azerbaijan are intending to reach agreement on cooperation for the period from 2011 and into 2015, on increasing the volume of supply of Azeri crude oil to Ukraine, and develop cooperation in the space, transport, and military-technical areas.
Azerbaijan is willing to work with Ukraine in supplies of liquefied gas.Ukraine wants to determine the sources of supply of liquefied natural gas to a future regasification terminal before November.
