Belarus is mulling over concessional lending to boost its exports to Ukraine, Moldova, the Republic of South Africa, Indonesia and other countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Guryanov told media on 25 February. According to Alexander Guryanov, a compound system of export marketing activities through financing Belarusian supplies to other markets was introduced following Decree No.466. Funds are provided by a bank of the country receiving Belarusian products. In turn, the Belarusian government compensates interest rates on these loans. The scheme has been successfully used in the Russian Federation for several years already in cooperation with the Sberbank of Russia. “In fact the Sberbank of Russia provided loans to Russian buyers of Belarusian equipment. The government reduced lending rates to make the loan more attractive,” Alexander Guryanov said.
