The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko has insisted on holding an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Friday to address the local-government reforms, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.

“We insist that this set of issues embracing 41 bills should be considered this Friday. That is why the BYT has proposed holding the parliament’s extraordinary meeting,” Tymoshenko said while opening the government’s special meeting on Friday.

She said that the bills deal with the changes in the country’s budgetary policies, land issues and amendments to the Constitution as regards the procedure of the elections to institutions of local government.
