The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the results of local elections in Mariupol and Krasnoarmiysk, Donetsk Oblast.

Independent candidate Vadym Boichenko, who was supported by 88,093 people (or 72.8 percent of the vote) has been elected mayor of Mariupol, according to a report posted on the CEC official website on Nov. 3.

His rival, also independent candidate Yuriy Ternavskiy received the support of 10,207 people (or 8.4 percent of the vote).

Meanwhile, independent candidate Ruslan Trebushkin, who got 17,441 votes (or 83.5 percent of the vote), won the mayoral elections in the city of Krasnoarmiysk.

Only 1,582 people (or 7.58 percent of the vote) voted for his rival, representative of the Youth Party of Ukraine Serhiy Andriychenko in Krasnoarmiysk mayoral election.

As reported the local elections in Mariupol and Krasnoarmiysk took place on Nov. 29, 2015.
