You're reading: Cabinet approves procedure for drawing up Ukraine’s regional development strategy

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution on the procedure for drawing up the state regional development strategy of Ukraine and an action plan to implement it, as well as requirements to monitoring and assessing the results.

The press service of the cabinet reported on Wednesday that the draft cabinet resolution was drawn up by the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry of Ukraine.

“The resolution enables the drawing up of long-term plans to develop the regions. Today, we can outline the top-priority tasks for next seven years and then monitor their implementation via concrete reports. Reports will be open. Each citizen will be able to study the course of the implementation of urgent tasks in his/her region,” Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Minister Hennadiy Zubko said.

The action plan to realize the strategy is to be drawn up twice: for three years and then the next four years. The results will be monitored every six months and assessed every year. The results will be published on the ministry’s website and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
