The government of Ukraine intends to submit for consideration in parliament the plans for the Velyka Kiltseva ring road around Kyiv while the issue of land allocation is being resolved in order to accelerate the road construction process.

Vadym Hurzhos, the head of the State Service of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), said that a relevant draft law was approved at a cabinet sitting on Wednesday.

"Currently the designing of the road is forbidden until the issue on land allocation is resolved, and this is slowing down the process considerably," he said.

Moreover, according to him, the draft law foresees only a transit function for the road. It prohibits the placement of facilities along the road that are not connected with road servicing, as well as the placement of advertising billboards within 100 meters of the edge of the road.
