Parking fees in Kyiv have been upped by 40 to 60 percent and reached Hr 5 to 10 per hour, depending on the zone, the city administration said.
The most expensive area for parking will be the city center, or Zone 1, where drivers will have to pay Hr 10 per hour. In areas outside the immediate city center, or Zone 2, the parking fee will be Hr 7 per hour. Parking on the outskirts and the city’s sleeping districts will cost Hr 5 per hour.
The parking is overseen by Kyivtransparkservice, a municipal company. Charges are not applied for those who stop for less than five minutes. Exempt from parking fees are also vehicles performing official functions, as well as disabled drivers and war veterans.
Kyivtransparkservice also sells daily and monthly parking coupons. The daily parking coupons cost Hr 40, 28 and 20, depending on the zone. Monthly fees are Hr 630, 441 and 315, respectively.Parking fees were first introduced in Kyiv in August 2007.
