You're reading: City starts residential parking program with no clear agenda

Deputy mayor Irena Kilchytska said the municipal authorities are planning to start a program to counteract the growing problem of parking in front of residential buildings.

She said the city has been receiving an increasing number of complaints that access to children’s play parks and access to residential buildings by ambulances, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles is getting more restricted, and the program called “People’s parking” (Narodna Parkovka) is designed to fight the problem.

Kilchytska failed to give any details about the program, however, except the address of the website www.parkovka-dvor.org.ua where residents can send their suggestions and ideas as of Sept. 22.

“This is not a commercial program, it’s created to improve the state of areas around residential buildings and yards, with the purpose to observe the residents’ interests,” she said, according to www.kmv.gov.ua/news.asp?IdType=1&Id=213494.
