The unrest in eastern Ukraine can only be solved through diplomacy, the U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, told CNBC after the country's interior minister warned that force could be moved to remove pro-Russia separatists holding state buildings in at least two cities.
