You're reading: Davyd Zhvania joins Christian Democratic Union

Davyd Zhvania, a member of the parliamentary coalition from the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense faction, officially joined the Christian Democratic Union Party on July 17, the Agency of Strategic Research has reported.

Zhavania applied for the party membership at a meeting of the political council of the Christian Democratic Union. Leader of the party Volodymyr Stretovych presented him with a party badge.

According to Zhvania, the other members of parlament, including current members of the Right for Choice Group and those who intend to join it, will also join the Christian Democratic Union soon.

The Right for Choice group will be renamed as the Christian Democratic Union group.

The Christian Democratic Union will hold a congress on September 4, 2010.
