The declaration of Ukrainian officials' spending will be an effective anticorruption measure, according to Ukraine's Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

"As for corruption… It’s very easy to handle – it would be enough if any decision-taking official is to report his or her spending and do this transparently and in public," he said at a meeting with diplomats and businessmen in Kyiv on Thursday.

The premier said that an improvement in the standard of living of the public and the enhancement of the prestige of civil service would contribute to a corruption reduction.

He also cited Georgia’s anticorruption experience as a good example, and added that it might be useful in Ukraine.
