Kyiv, Dec. 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Verkhovna Rada Deputy Speaker Mykola Tomenko has said he predicts that an investigation commission will be formed in the parliament regarding the reconstruction of the Olympiysky National Sports Complex, which is to host the final match of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
He said this at a council on the state of budget financing for physical education and sports development programs and the existing problems with the stadium’s reconstruction on Monday.
“I forecast that a special commission on the NSC will be set up in the Verkhovna Rada,” Tomenko said.
He said that there would be “no prosecution and no pressure” regarding this question.
Tomenko said contracts had already been signed for a sum of UAH 1.76 billion, however, it is yet unclear which kind of reconstruction work will be carried out at the stadium.
