Great rock party in Kyiv’s Podil on Sept. 5 as Butterfly Effect band won nationwide Djuice music contest.
The finale of the Djuice Music Drive 2009 talent contest took place Sept. 5 on Kontraktova Ploshcha. There were five finalists performing at the gig, but only one of them was to become the prize winner. The lucky one was Effect Babochki (The Butterfly Effect) rock band (1, 4) who won a contract with Sony Music Entertainment Russia. The band was one of many young Ukrainian performers who submitted their tracks to the contest website, and was picked by the fans’ cell phone text votes – 3,762 in total. After the winner was announced, the party went on with some of Ukraine’s most popular bands performing before the music-loving crowd. Valery Harchishyn of Druha Rika (2) literally set the stage on fire, while Victor Bronyuk of TIK (3) had the fans sing along to his major hit “Oleni” (Deer).
