Militants mounted an attack from grenade launchers on the Mayorsk checkpoint near the occupied town of Horlivka in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, in the early hours of July 19, the Ukrainian Border Service reported.

“Using the advantages of the location, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group opened fire from rocket-propelled grenade launchers four times,” the report said.

Border guards of the Kramatorsk detachment took all-round defense and fired back. The enemy had to retreat.

“No casualties among the border guards were reported as a result of the attack,” the report said.

Illegal armed formations shell the Mayorsk checkpoint frequently. The recent attack was recorded several days ago. During that incident, militants were shelling from an artillery system in Horlivka. One border guard received a shrapnel wound.
