Emilio F. “Ric” Riccio, a professor of logistics who spent almost two decades on New York University’s adjunct faculty while engaged in international logistics operations, died Nov. 7 in Kyiv. He was 79.
Riccio had lived in Kyiv for the last decade. He died in a hospital after being diagnosed with a form of cancer.
Riccio published several textbooks on logistics. He taught and consulted throughout the former Soviet Union. He helped found and currently chaired the Society of International Logistics and Operations (SILO), a Netherlands-based professional organization.
Riccio is survived by his daughter, Marlena, a resident of Puerto Rico.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 12 at the crematorium of Baikova Cemetery. His ashes will be buried in a rural Kyiv Oblast cemetery, where his late wife Iryna is also interred.
