You're reading: Ex-Ukrainian defense minister Koval appointed as NSDC deputy secretary

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has appointed former acting defense minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Koval as Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

The relative order was posted on the president’s Web site on July 3.

Prior to this, NSDC Secretary Andriy Parubiy had one deputy – Oleksandr Lytvenenko.

On July 3 morning, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada appointed Valeriy Heletei defense minister of Ukraine based on the president’s recommendation, and voted to dismiss Koval from this post.
