You're reading: Femen protests planned city ordinance for soccer matches

Activists from the women's movement Femen shouted and held placards, reading "This balcony is private property" and "This is a rebellious balcony," on February 1 during a topless protest on a balcony in the center of of Kyiv.

The group was drawing attention to plans announced by the Kyiv City Administration ahead of the Euro 2012 soccerl tournament to pass a new ordinance, which, if approved, would require residents to keep their balconies empty and wear clothes before venturing out on to them.
