The Control and Revision department said on June 17 that it uncovered financial violations worth Hr 7.2 million at Kyiv Hippodrome, that took place between April 2007 and February 2009.
In particular, the hippodrome failed to bill horse owners Hr 1.3 million for the animals’ upkeep, and billed for horse-related services below cost, causing a loss of Hr 4.69 million.
Also, the state control department said the hippodrome failed to pay Hr 136,000 hryvnas to the budget received for rent of its buildings, and purchased animal food worth Hr 595,000 without a tender.
Also, the department said that the hippodrome failed to receive any income from the horse races that have been taking place since February, and has no agreements with the company that organized the racing and betting.
The Control and Revision department said it passed these and other findings to the prosecutor’s office and the department for economic crimes, according to korrespondent.net.
