You're reading: Four Georgians receive managing positions in Justice Ministry of Ukraine

Four Georgian citizens will receive managing positions in the Justice Ministry of Ukraine, in particular, Gia Getsadze will become Deputy Minister, Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko said.

“I want to introduce Gia Getsadze, who’s applying for the position of Deputy Justice Minister,” Petrenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Jan. 14.

According to the minister, Getsadze and members of his team have filed the documents to obtain Ukrainian citizenship. After becoming Ukrainian citizens they will be appointed to their corresponding positions.

Petrenko said that Getsadze would supervise anti-corruption policy issues, and the reform of the State Executive Service and State Registration Service.

Previously, former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on Facebook that Getsadze had been appointed as First Deputy Prime Minister.

Getsadze’s last position under Saakashvili’s administration was Governor of Imereti region in Georgia.
