You're reading: Four Ukrainian killed in An-12 crash in Congo, according to western media

Kyiv, August 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Four Ukrainian crew members and one Congolese national were killed on Wednesday as a result of an Antonov 12 cargo plane crash near Brazzaville, the capital of Congo, western media outlets reported referring to the Congo Republic's Transport Ministry.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is verifying the information.

Earlier reports said that five Russian crew members and two Congolese passengers were aboard the An-12 aircraft en route from the town of Pointe Noire to Brazzaville.

Some media said that the aircraft belonged to Aeroflot Business airline.

At the same time, a spokeswoman for Aeroflot Business told Interfax-Ukraine that the company has no An-12 aircraft in its fleet.
