Four Ukrainian citizens were aboard the Russian plane that crashed in Egypt on Oct. 31.

Russian Kogalymavia passenger plane 7K9268 with 224 people on board crashed in the Sinai peninsula in Egypt on the early morning of Oct. 31. The plane was flying from tourist resort Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg in Russia.

There were 138 women, 62 men and 17 children on board.

The reason of the crash wasn’t yet announced.

Egyptian investigators said the pilot was reporting technical problems with the plane during the flight.

At the same time, the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for downing the plane but offered no evidence.

Ukraine Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin confirmed the information about the Ukrainians on board. He published the last names of the four Ukrainian victims: Sachuk, Movchanova, Usatova, Usatov.

“Death of people is painful. The death of compatriots is twice as painful,” Klimkin wrote in his Twitter.

Dozens of Ukrainians came to the Russian Embassy in Kyiv to lay flowers and to mourn those who were on board.
