You're reading: Front for Change: Party of Regions and BYT to continue dividing UAH 1 billion on fighting flu in budget committee

The deputy head of the Front for Change nongovernmental organization, Andriy Pyshny, has said that the sum of UAH 1 billion on fighting flu was too small for the Party of Regions and BYT factions to divide it at halves and will continue splitting money under the carpet in the budget committee, the organization’s press service reported on Friday.

“The fact that the Party of Regions and BYT are able to agree was illustrated by the law on the financing of the Euro 2012 [European football championship]. It was also was vetoed by President Viktor Yuschenko. The BYT and Party of Regions managed to agree when distributing the large sum of UAH 10 billion. The veto of the president was overridden. It’s likely that UAH 1 billion was too small to quickly divide it between the two factions with a wolfish appetite in politics and business,” the press service said, citing Pyshny.

He said that during the voting in the parliament anyone was interested in neither healthcare nor a large-scale vaccination.

“Ukraine should be treated, but from another virus. However, there is no virus vaccine in Ukrainian power, consisting of the BYT and Party of Regions,” he said.

The voting for a draft law on the allocation of money to fight flu showed that the government and opposition do not leave any kopeck of budget funds without their attention and personal participation.
