Russia’s Gazprom has confirmed payment of USD 1.5 billion by the Naftohaz Ukrainy national oil and gas company for gas supplies to the RosUkrEnergo Company for gas supplies. Alexander Medvedev, the CEO of the Gazprom Export Company, said this at a press conference. “The money has been transferred to the accounts of RosUkrEnergo,” he said. Sergei Kupriyanov, the spokesman for Gazprom, said in turn that RosUkrEnergo has yet to transfer the money to the Russian gas monopolist. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, as of December 24, the financial liability of Naftohaz Ukrainy before RosUkrEnergo for gas supplied in November is estimated at USD 805.8 million.
