The Labor and Social Policy Ministry of Ukraine and the government of Germany have reached agreement on a grant of EUR 5 million for the development of social infrastructure of Crimea for 2009 and 2010.
Labor and Social Policy Minister Liudmyla Denysova announced the
grant on Friday at a meeting with representatives of Crimean
communities and heads of the district and village councils of Crimea.
According to her, on September 21 the decision was made to direct
the money to villages and small towns in four districts of Crimea:
Bakhchisaray, Belohorsk, Kirov and Razdolnensky.
“The money that the villages and small towns will receive will
improve the living conditions of Crimean residents, moreover, the
regions will receive additional resources for their development,”
Denysova said.
“Funds from our German partners – the government of Germany – are
already on the accounts of the Labour Ministry. We are ready to start
financing [development],” Denysova said.
